Cumberland Centre is a discreetly wet tenting only site with a feast hall, restroom facilities, and hot showers. For those preferring less rustic accommodations, hotels can be found in nearby Lewisburg and within one exit along I-65.

Directions

Take I-65 to Exit 37, then Hwy.50 South/East. After 100 yards turn left onto Joe Reeves Rd. Take the next left onto Luke Moser Rd. Go to Gillespie Lane and turn right. The Centre is on the left after the stream. Anyone with a trailer or in case of heavy rain, follow the usual directions to Cumberland Centre onto Luke Moser Rd. But do NOT turn onto Gillespie Lane. Keep going to Newcut Rd. and turn right. At intersection with Old Sowell Mill Rd., go straight. The road will curve to the right. Turn right onto Gillespie Lane and wach for the Centre on the right.

Martial Activities

Bring a bottle of wine and test your skills in armored combat of three-man melee teams. The entry fee is just one bottle per fighter in the melee. Fighters under 21 - make it non-alcoholic. (Please do not bring horribly cheap beverages; you may have to drink it.) There will also be a standard double-elimination tournament of one-on-one armored combat, and a Youth Combat tournament will be held as well.

Equestrian Activities

Anyone intending to bring a horse to the event, must contact the Equestrian Marshal in Charge, Lora Greymare (615-449-4041, lcphil@prodigy.net), prior to the event. All horses coming on site must have current proof of negative coggins. Horses travelling across state lines must have a valid 30-day health certificate. Bring 2 copies of these documents -- one to give to the EMIC before unloading your horse and one to take home with you. For those unfamiliar with the site, there are secure areas to picket/high-line horses, as well as space to put up portable pens. Water is available near the pens. Horse owners are requested to camp in the horse area.

A Decathlon of Equestrian Contests:

Come test the scope of your skills in ten common and not-so-common mounted games to include:

  • Ring-tilting
  • Reeds
  • Saracen course
  • Tent-pegging
  • Archery
  • Quintain
  • and more
Prizes will be awarded in each activity, as well as for the overall high scorer. Following the Wine List tradition, each rider must bring an interesting beverage to contribute to the kitty (non-alcoholic is acceptable -- and required for minors -- but please nothing too mundane, like soda). All levels of riders are welcome to play. We will have some "training" time in the morning to introduce riders and horses to new games as needed. Authorization/advancements possible if scheduled in advance with the EMIC.

Feast
The on-board feast fee covers the usual Saturday evening meal plus breakfast on Saturday and Sunday as well as lunch on Saturday.  Saturday's feast (tentatively) includes:

  • Appetizer

    • Feta cheese
    • Walnuts
    • Assorted  toppings
