From I-65, take Exit 308 in Cullman. Go EAST on Hwy 278 for about 29 miles. Turn RIGHT onto State Hwy 75. Go approximately 3 miles and turn RIGHT onto County Rd 34. WOW Camp will be 3.9 miles on RIGHT.

NEWS UPDATE: As of Wednesday, 2 April 2008, we have about 30 feast spots available and about 30 beds free. For those with tents, there is plenty of camping space on the site.

The Shire of Glynn Rhe cordially invites one and all to the Coronation of Caspar Krieger and Cecelia di Silvestri. Please join us for the investiture of the new King and Queen of the fair Kingdom of Meridies. Come and enjoy a day of ceremony and friendship, feast on 14th century dishes prepared by THLady Cecily du Chinon, and revel at the White Rose Ball with music, dancing, and refreshments.

Camp Woodmen of North Alabama is the venerable "Camp WOW Royal" site used for so many SCA events over the years. The camp has 112 beds plus space for tenting and plenty of showers for the populace. Feast space is limited to 150 so be sure to reserve early to guarantee a spot. Please note that the camp is discreetly wet - no original containers and be sure to remove your empties from the site. Also, no pets except for assistance animals are allowed on site. And, ground fires are forbidden. Site opens at 5:00 PM, Friday, 4 April 2008, and closes at 11:00 AM, Sunday, 6 April 2008.

Adult non-members add $3. Children 12 and under are half of the adult member price. Babes in arms are free. Please note that in accordance with Kingdom Law, no family shall pay higher than 3 adult member prices for admission to an event as long as the children are 15 years of age or younger and they are all members. Recreational vehicles have an additional $20.00 per night site fee payable to WOW at troll and MUST be preregistered!

Sable Sword Tournament

By request of Her Royal Highness Cecelia, The Order of the Sable Sword will hold the field against all comers in Chivalric combat.

Challengers may choose their heavy weapon style of choice to face a member of the Order of the Sable Sword chosen by the order OR challenge a Sable Sword member of their choosing in an open weapon style bout. All bouts will be best of 3.

Exact detail and format will be given at the event and will depend on participation level. Those who distinguish themselves that day will advance to fight in a single elimination tournament to determine the champion of the tournament.

Acceptable weapon styles are:

  • Great Sword
  • Glaive
  • Single handed - Single weapon
  • Spear
  • Two Weapon

We look forward to facing you all with arms of peace on the day we honor our new Crown.
