Learning to paint on velvet using the Italian painter's manual as a guide. You may attend the afternoon class without attending the morning, but you will paint on paper instead of velvet.

Class covers an intro to raising silkworms and an intro to processing the silk cocoons into usable fibers ready to weave or embroider and the like.

T-Tunic Embellishments

Think beyond trim! This class shows a variety of techniques for making t-tunics prettier and fancier with little or no extra cost. Methods such as slits, color divisions, and applied designs will be shown, with lots of real tunics to touch.

Tubular Tablet Weaving

Learn to weave tubular tablet-woven bands, similar to those found in 14th c. London digs (documented in Crowfoot's Textiles and Clothing, c. 1150-1450 and Egan's Dress Accessories 1150-1450.) To make a band in class, you must have previous tablet weaving experience and arrive with loom ALREADY WARPED!
